Animal + Element is the first virtual Art and Science Summer Camp based at and hosted by Black Rock Forest. Your guide to this four week experience in the forest and around the Hudson Valley is AGRISCULPTURE Amy.
Exploring themes of Forest, Water, Edible Wild Plants and Sculpture in Nature while introducing elements of Air, Water, Earth and Fire, experience the wild beauty of Black Rock Forest and take Field Trips to our incredible partners’ locations - Sweetman's Dairy Farm and AGRISCULPTURE Studios.
This free virtual art and science camp will be hosted on Black Rock Forest’s social media websites (Facebook and Instagram) and will be structured in a prompt-and-response, image-based format. Through AGRISCULPTURE Amy’s weekly films and daily photographs, posted Monday-Friday at 9am (EST), the public is encouraged to respond with their own original creative image they make such as a photo, drawing/painting, digital arts/collage or mixed media/sculpture related to the topic of that week.
At the end of camp, all images submitted to Animal + Element will be arranged by AGRISCULPTURE Amy to become, what we hope to be, the World’s Largest Nature Collage, to be unveiled digitally as well as physically with an Opening in late Fall 2020.
