AGRISCULPTURE Candlestick Collections originate from antique disc harrows, massive farm implements weighing thousands of pounds and pulled by tractors to prep fields for planting. In the process of creating the first AGRISCULPTURE, a Fountain Trio called GROW, Amy Lewis Sweetman realized she could also transform other parts of disc harrows into refined sculptural lighting.
Amy first presented this groundbreaking work at Green Door Gallery in July 2013, unveiling the raw beauty hidden within agricultural machinery. The candlesticks were later showcased at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC, where their fusion of industrial heritage and contemporary design drew wide acclaim. They also appeared in the Storm King Art Center Gift Shop, resonating with the institution’s celebration of art rooted in landscape and materiality. Today, these one-of-a-kind pieces are held in private collections worldwide, reflecting their universal appeal and enduring artistic impact.
Each candlestick is crafted as a unique, sustainable artwork that honors the history of rural implements and materials.
